Tony Mustafa - Managing Director
Tony has over 25 years’ experience in the offshore financial services industry, running operations throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. A strong man-manager, Tony has trained many of the industry’s most successful consultants, and is responsible for introducing and developing the highly successful SML (short, medium and long-term) approach to financial planning. Tony maintains this hands-on approach by personally overseeing Essential Finance's seminar and consultant teams.

Alex de Wit - Executive Director
Alex has worked in the offshore financial services industry for close to 20 years, most of them spent in business partnership with Tony. Originally from a hotel and catering background, Alex also spent many years in the City of London with the P&O Group's capital equipment manufacturing division and was instrumental in their becoming market leaders by securing major contracts with household names such as the Bank of England, Lloyds of London, Standard Chartered, BP, Shell, Texaco etc. Alex is responsible for the original introduction of the platform and oversees the development of Essential Finance together with product selection and strategic alliances.
Peter Disney - Chief Operating Officer
Peter has over 20 years of extensive experience in a wide range of industries including Financial Services, Banking (Wholesale and Retail), Investments, Finance, Credit, Funds Management, Superannuation, Personal Insurance, Recruitment and Health. Peter has also managed the realignment of complex projects and large-scale package implementations that have run into execution difficulties and is a highly effective relationship manager with a successful track record of working closely with clients, senior management and project teams across multiple business and support units. Peter's comprehensive financial and IT background coupled with his strong interpersonal and management skills add considerable value to the management team.
Brian Lam – IT Manager
Brian has been with Essential for six years and is both the key man behind the award-winning Essential platform, and the back-bone of our technology team.
Brian has over ten years industry experience, having worked in different industries such as architecture, travel and investment banking. His design and technical skills extend to both front-end design and back-end systems development, and he has managed and developed many websites, platform builds, revamps and redesigns. Brian's pioneering work has been recognised by Salesforce (the world leaders in Customer Relationship Management systems) with an award for the innovative integration of their technology into the Essential Platform.
Brian also ensures the smooth running of all company systems such as the Essential platform, Salesforce CRM, mail, document sharing and backup systems; and always remains up-to-date with the very latest technologies. Brian is also an accomplished photographer and movie maker in the little spare time that he has!
Jennifer Stewart – Operations Manager
Jennifer is the heart and soul of Essential and has also been with the company for six years. Wherever and whenever there's an administrative issue, Jennifer is there to solve the problem.
Jen is the quiet achiever, providing the necessary support to our advisors so that all of our clients are well looked after. She also makes sure that operations run seamlessly by liaising with our many internal and external resources including banks, insurance companies and other service providers. Her superb work ethic and efficiency ensures that the Essential client experience is always a good one!
